Lyon Keyboard Instruments prides itself on the high quality and detailed workmanship of historical harpsichords, fortepianos and clavichords.
The particular needs, interest and preferences of the customer are of the utmost importance. Some of the options are described in our website but others are also available through special request.
If a customer wishes to have an instrument of a specific type not listed here, we will gladly consider building it by special arrangement.
Currently under construction in the LKI Shop are three harpsichords, all inspired by the 1646 Couchet Double Manual Harpsichord in the Brussels, Belgium museum. Progress pictures will be uploaded soon.
Click HERE for photos of the Rieger Pipe Organ. After extensive renovations, this organ has found a home in Roseville, Minnesota where it will soon be install at St. Christopher's Episcopal church. This instrument is one of only 20 imported to the United States during the 1950's.
Each instrument is constructed from aged woods, some over one hundred years old. Each Board is selected to carefully match to the particular need within the instrument. See our workshop photos HERE.
